Dylan and Haley met through mutual friends and started dating when she was a senior in high school and when he was in college. They had dated for five years when Dylan proposed this past November.
Haley’s sister, Ashley, is also a wedding and portrait photographer and so Dylan and Ashley planned to bring Haley to her brother’s portrait session so that her sister could catch the surprise on camera! The best part is, they did it on their family farm – the place where Ashley and Haley grew up. In the initial consultation, I asked if Haley was surprised, and she said yes! She mentioned that Dylan wanted her to dress up for her brother’s portrait session, but Haley dismissed the request because they were going to a basketball game after his senior pictures. To Haley’s surprise, she turned around, and Dylan was on his knee, asking for her hand in marriage. The best part – other than the fact that she said yes, was that Ashley captured the entire moment!
Dylan and Haley invited me back to the Homan family farm for their engagement session. I was so unbelievably happy about the location. Everything from the creek to the fields was stunning! It is evident to me how much this sweet couple loves each other. They were always giggling and laughing. It may have been the fact that the ground was so soft that our feet kept sinking or because they are just that much in love!
I am so happy to capture your wedding next May in Sedalia! It is going to be a simple yet elegant reception with greenery and neutrals. Dylan and Haley, I wish that I could get you in front of my camera more often! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and joy!
