A Guide for Displaying Your Wedding Photos

As a wedding photographer serving St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, and beyond, I have the privilege of meeting clients in the early stages of planning, listening to their vision, and watching their ideas transform to life on their wedding day. But wedding days are so much more than superficial, pretty pictures. These are your memories.

I capture memories of your mom helping you into the dress before seeing your partner for the first time. I get to capture your dad giving you a whisper of encouragement before walking down the aisle to your lifelong person. I capture your first dance with friends and family from near and far there to support you on your wedding day.

My job allows me to capture some of the most important moments in my client’s lives, which are often fleeting. Often, my clients spend months or years planning for this event. So what an injustice it would be for me to deliver an online gallery with all your precious memories and say, “You can figure out what to do with these.” As a photographer, I aim to capture these feeling moments and allow you to create heirlooms you can pass down for generations.

Naturally, this begs the question, “How can I display my wedding photos?” At Kiley Ann Photography, I offer my clients two core ways to enjoy their wedding images: albums and wall art. Let’s explore both options:

Wall Art

When enjoying imagery on your wall, I offer three options for clients.

  1. Starter

  2. Statement

  3. Story Wall

Starter Wall Art

The 'Starter' is a perfect fit for those in temporary spaces or those looking to begin their wall art journey with a few small pieces. These framed artwork pieces are compact yet stylish, adding your heirlooms to your wall at a more affordable price. These are also ideal for couples looking to start small and build a ‘Storywall’ over a period of time as your story grows.

Statement Wall Art

The ‘Statement’ is named that for a reason. This is often a larger frame to make a statement in your home. It’s a standout addition for those settled into their forever homes. This larger frame draws the eye to a single focal point, ideal for showcasing a beloved artwork or photograph. Perfect for making a lasting impression, it adds a touch of sophistication to any room, reflecting your style with elegance and simplicity.

Storywall Wall Art

The ‘Storywall’ is a design concept intended to evolve over time, allowing you to curate and share your story as it changes. This option is intended to be an ongoing project, with each frame representing a chapter or milestone in your journey. Adding frames to your ‘Storywall’ over the years becomes a tangible reflection of who you are, where you have been, and the memories that shaped you.

As a full-service studio, I offer complimentary design services, along with my fancy software; I will help you create wall art in no time. So you can view your home with all the furniture, finishes, and frame size true-to-life before you make an artwork investment. Depending on your purchase and the location of your home, I will install the artwork for you so the process is as seamless and stress-free as possible.

Heirloom Album

You deserve to enjoy your memories beyond the computer screen and bring them to life through artwork. And while all of the options above sound wonderful, let’s face it. You probably can’t display every wedding image on the walls, and the perfect solution is an album.

Heirloom albums can be built over multiple sessions but require 20 images to send to print. The more images you add to your heirloom album, the bigger it becomes. Often, my couples separate the album into two volumes to enjoy the engagement session and the wedding day separately. Some couples may also choose to create two volumes for their wedding day.

The heirloom album is made by an American company using archive-quality materials with the utmost care. It features thick, bend-proof, wipable pages, just in case little fingerprints view your wedding album down the road. I offer various cover options, including linen, leather, vegan, and suede, so there are plenty of options to match your wedding theme and your home. Parent albums are smaller versions of the wedding album. They are exact copies, except for a deboss or cameo cover, and make great gifts for parents, grandparents, and even your future children.

I desperately want you to walk away from our time together with something tangible after your engagement session and wedding day. My process is seamless and stress-free, so all the decisions will be made after our appointment, with an album in hand a few months after your wedding day. Whether it be your wedding anniversary or a lazy Sunday morning, you’ll be ready to flip through your first heirloom as husband and wife.
